Ennis/Jack, PG. Ennis always hated Joe Aguirre for bringing them down from Brokeback early. In which Ennis reflects on happier times. 'Damn bluff; Jack tripping him, catching him as he fell. Kissing him, tipping his hat off because it got in the way, hand snaking down into his jeans before he could even gasp, 'Jack, damn you'.' [580 words]

Ennis/Jack, R. This is set the day after one of their sporadic meet-ups, post-Brokeback. In which there is undoubtedly angst. 'It wasn't the same, standing there, like the negative of an old, happier photograph. There would be no tomorrow filled with riding over the mountain...' [650 words]
Better Than Never
Ennis/Jack, R. More angst and romance - what do you expect? ;) Ennis and Jack spend another evening together, post-Brokeback. 'Sheep called mellow in the darkness, somewhere far away, reminding them of better days. Christ, that hurt. Threatened to drag Ennis under. He had to get out of his slump or he'd be in no fit state to go home in the morning.' [700 words]
Countless Times
Ennis/Jack, hard R. With angst and a a sprinkling of happier memories. Four separate moments from Ennis Del Mar's life. 'Jack had cursed breathlessly, a soft, sibilant, "Shiiit..." and maybe he'd said "Ennis" too, but under the flap of canvas, the rustle of tree leaves and the wail of coyotes outside, it had been hard to tell for sure.'
